We determine the wear and tear elements using ICP (directly or with acid disintegration) and/or using the Spectroil OES (Rotrode).
Typical wear elements are iron, copper, aluminium, lead, chromium.
Often, incorrect products are determined using the infrared spectroscopy (IR). Lubricants are normally differentiated according to the additives (see Additive elements, ICP).
The density, viscosity or such values are often different. The exact scope of analysis is normally only determined in case of a specific situation. Please contact us for this purpose.
Corrosion often takes place due to water, acids, and chlorides. We can confirm the corresponding components through ICP, ionic chromatography, TAN and Karl Fischer.
The formation of aging products insoluble in oil is exacerbated by a copper content of more than 0.5mg/kg. Therefore, commercial fuel oil extra-light must be free from copper.
We determine the copper content in fuel oils through ICP.
